IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY - DIAL 911

Elkhorn Creek RV Park is situated along the east bank of South Elkhorn Creek at the confluence of Slickway Branch, upstream of a low-head dam and the confluence of North Elkhorn Creek. The area is locally referred to as the "Forks of Elkhorn". Access to the park areas is through a two-lane roadway known as N. Scruggs Lake and there is one main entrance to the Elkhorn Creek RV Park on McConnell Drive.

The area in and around the park has been known to flood as the results of rising waters in Elkhorn Creek from excessive rainfall. Campground Management monitors the US Geological Survey Website as well as the NOAA Website of the real time water levels and predictions. Guests may be notified by bullhorn/text message as may be necessary in the event water levels reach actionable heights.

We monitor the following websites to determine the potential impact of flooding to our campground. Please monitor these websites on your own and make your own decisions about the threat of impending high water.

National Weather Service

Peaks Mills, approximately 6 miles north and DOWNSTREAM of Elkhorn Creek RV Park

United States Geological Services

Midway, approximately 8 miles south and UPSTREAM of Elkhorn Creek RV Park

https://waterdata.usgs.gov/monitoring-location/03289500/#parameterCode=00065&period=P7D

Please do not block the roadway when entering or exiting the park and use the designated roadway to evacuate Elkhorn Creek RV Park.

The sites located closest to the creek (0-40) should evacuate first. The remaining sites would soon follow, exiting in orderly fashion.

In the event of the main evacuation route being blocked to vehicle departure and there is evidence of flood or rising waters, you may exit down N. Scruggs Rd by foot to a large hill to your right or east where flood waters are unlikely to reach. Call 911 and advise of your location.
